Progress and Transgression dancing in each other's arms, sweeping the dance floor, swirling all over. They are everywhere, they are everything, a unity, a unity of all things – one unity, one thing, and so, everything is one, and so infinity is one, infinity equals one - an aphorism?
No bigger an aphorism than "the new" Spiderman movie.
"In order for everything to stay the same, everything needs to change". So says Alain Delon to Burt Lancaster in Lucino Visconti's "The Leopard", as he gets ready to leave his aristocratic estate and join Garibaldi's forces sweeping across Italy, bringing "new order" to the old monarchist land – a new order in which the same people as before keep pulling the strings, only under a different flag, a different title and a slightly different lingo.
And so as things around us change and evolve, we are still forever stuck with everything, and with the same. Superman and Spiderman will keep on dancing with us to infinity - them and us in an endless Waltz, the Last Waltz, until we become one, like Daphne and the tree, one superb capital-yielding symbiosis.
We are the Terminator minus the common courtesy to self-destruct, the product of megalomaniac folly, of our own megalomaniac folly, and we're here to stay, forever reproducing the phantoms of the someones that we used to be.
One two three, one two three, one two three, one two three!!
