Actress, creator of Toren C, avid art collector, and recently also author and illustrator of the book “Wen er maar aan” (Get used to it) which will be published mid-November. It’s millipede Maike Meijer. Her Instagram account states that the book is about aging "but in a fun way". You can leave that to Maike. Young and (especially) old, men and (especially) women, we are all very curious about her book, since we already know that nothing and no one will be spared by Maike's merciless pen and pencil. So much for multi-talent Maike Meijer who, as mentioned, is an art collector with a predilection for painting. She could keep buying art, yet, in her own words:
"As we’re in an economic crisis, we should be penny wise, or rather be careful on how we spend larger amounts, because 4000 euros is of course a lot of money. Many people are put off by high prices, while there are so many beautiful things for sale, in all, including lower, price ranges."
That is why for this selection she has set herself the goal of choosing paintings that she would like to have herself and that cost no more than € 4000. Maike: "Abstract, figurative, painting in all shapes and sizes. There is so much beauty that begs to be put on a wall. And then there is also that great art purchase scheme that allows you to pay for your purchase in instalments, without interest!"
