In 2002, Katrin Korfmann installed a 6 by 20-metre pink wall in Piazza Castello, Turin. This temporary installation transformed the historic space into a stage for spontaneous interaction. The wall, an abstract object and blank canvas, invited passers-by to pose, photograph each other, and experience the square from a new perspective.
The installation was not a traditional artwork but a neutral backdrop, like in a photo studio. Korfmann relinquished control: the viewer decided the moment and perspective, making the meaning of the work a shared creation.
