Shane Brox´s artistic practice mainly comprises sculptures, wall objects, and large-scale installations made from fibre. He uses a mix of natural and synthetic materials, which include vintage textiles, cotton, linen, yarn, felt, string, ribbon, wool, silk, acrylic, and rayon, to create his works. Brox builds on the heritage of fibre art, and he chooses fibre as an essential part of the work's significance. His artworks emphasize the aesthetic value of the material over its utility which generates a strange and unpredictable cosmos, often described as psychedelic and uncanny. Brox finds inspiration in surrealism, folk art, and microscopic plant-like organisms.
