Fransje Killaars often includes human figures in her three-dimensional work, which you can see as mediators for the viewer. They lead you into the installation and function as carriers of meaning and the viewer's projections. In Nabeeld (After Image) three figures covered in veils face the viewer. They can evoke associations with stillness and contemplation as well as submission or mystery. Fransje Killaars however does aim for a fixed meaning, her objective is to let the figures disappear further and further into their veils and eventually become pure colour.
