Since the start of the refugee crisis Nour-Eddine Jarram has been making watercolours of young migrants that undertake the perilous journey to the promised continent of Europe. He depicts their hope, resignation, fear, solidarity and brotherhood in poignant and moving images. The long wait for the crossing often recurs in works entitled The Wait or l'Attente. In other works, he zooms in on the face of the refugee staring ahead absorbed in thought.
