Trees XVII, 2023

Dorine van der Ploeg started the series "Trees" in 2021. 15 works with a size of 200 x 125 cm show the trees that Van der Ploeg sees from her studio in Cadier en Keer. For the show Bright Spots she added 6 three dimensional works which are following the Trees series. The passage of time and the seasons can be experienced in the works. Her technique, in which she first paints large sheets of paper and cardboard, gives the work depth. Collage is perhaps too easy a term to describe her work. It's more like painting with paper.
