The maps traces present, past and imaginary parts of Tripoli’s Landscapes where the scripts replaces colonial or social borders. It explores narratives of the cursed and sacred places, the names of the streets changes between old and new, surreal and political, landmarks compromised in different values, written in a tense indigenous and colonial confusion as well as segregation of languages (Tamazight, Hebrew, Arabic, Greek, Ottoman and Italian). Languages that were historically widely spoken in the city and represents it’s complex and isolated history, and re-thinks it’s future.
