The internationally renowned photo works of Sigurdur Gudmundsson from the 70s and 80s have been revived by him in the form of sculptures. As before, they are contemplative-poetic 'situations', as he called the photos. The 3D works may be experienced as the famous photographs from the past, but now decades later they unmistakably add something to his visual poetry, like here with 'Friends'. He brings together two paintings of befriended fellow artists René Daniels and Marlene Dumas after thirty years, as a friend.
