'Naked II, Something exists but you can't see it', is a new version of 'Naked I, The Great Chamer Hall'. In both these monumental drawings the main hall in the Doge's Palace in Venice is depicted at the moment when all the paintings were removed from the walls due to a restoration. A stiking feature in both works is the lightness of the floor in comparison to the heavy ceiling. In the new version, the medallions in the ceiling are opened up to reveal a night sky with star constellations. Also the back wall in the hall is transparent in Naked II which allows the space to run almost infinitely to a perspective vanishing point. With these interventions Robbie Cornelissen shifts the attention from the imposing hall to the spaces behind and above it. The meaning of 'something exists but you cannot see it' from the subtitle thus explained.
