In the series 'Places' Robbie Cornelissen dismantles attached conceptions from specific locations. Places of worship are not depicted with an emphasis on their religious implications but on the degree of introspection that takes place inside their walls. Here the plain and empty interior of a monk's cell in a cloister is depicted. The modest and simple character of the space is enhanced by small written words like Serenita, Silencio or Semplicita that hover in the room.
