Untitled 2020-III from 'On my doorstep', 2021

From the upcoming series 'On my doorstep' Hans Bol is deeply fascinated by the passing and recording of time. In his most recent series, Bol uses platinum-palladium printing, an old one-of-a-kind process that results in warm-toned and slightly velvety prints. Platinum-palladium prints are known for long-lasting durability and color fastness and thus reflect the photographer's aim to capture the eternal and timeless. This technique stems from around 1870, and its subtle tonal scale gives the prints a timeless quality. Making them is a true craft; when done properly, platinum-palladium prints can last for many hundreds of years.
