To us Still lifes are a classic fine art subject matter that you don’t have to think about it.
We see ’Still life’ as a discipline - Like life drawing in that it is non-conceptual. The Bread, Meat, Flower & Vegetable work has been handled as a form of display or a study.
These 4 still lifes relate to past series of work we have made… 'Pinned Crackers', 'Sellotaped Snacks' & 'Chicken pieces'. But this time we have put like with like and they are contrasted… Exotic with plain. Organic with mass produced or Big with small.'
