Tresor, transforms the staircase in the WestLB lobby into an imaginary antechamber to the vault through the use of mirrors—a portal behind which valuables are kept. The staircase symbolizes ascent. The work transcends the boundary between photography and object.
Through its strict symmetry, the seemingly floating central form, and the delicate lines of light on the metal, the image acquires a three-dimensional presence reminiscent of a sculptural installation.
