Loud Speaker, a 3D-printed sculptural object by Jaehun Park, combines technical precision with ritual and organic symbolism. Made from translucent, heat-resistant resin, it takes the form of a horn loudspeaker but transforms it into a ceremonial structure.
A cylindrical core protrudes outward, reminiscent of a speaker’s mouthpiece, the point where sound, signal or energy seems poised to emerge. From this core radiates a fine inner lattice, evoking acoustic waves, data fields, and airflow systems.
The outer shell folds inward with sharp yet fluid planes, suggesting bat wings or the unfolding geometry of a lily. These shapes evoke both bodily and botanical associations, in contrast to the work’s mechanical logic.
Loud Speaker explores the tension between the organic and the industrial, ritual and technical. It presents loudness not only as volume, but as presence – an object that silently amplifies the invisible forces of resonance, desire, and technological trust.
