Eva Spierenburg – Untitled Attempt (to Hush), 85 x 58 x 2.5 cm, 2023 Acrylic resin, cotton, pigment, acrylic paint, modelling paste, clay remnants
Untitled Attempt (to Hush) opens subtly, almost reluctantly. The soft, pink form evokes skin or a shell. A dark incision on the left cuts through the surface, while a small opening remains visible at the centre. The work feels vulnerable, yet maintains a measured distance.
The materials are pronounced and form a surface that is at once soft and porous, yet solid and contained. The result is tactile and bodily, as if the work emerged slowly rather than being constructed.
