Eva Spierenburg – Moving as a Mountain (Growing), 2026
Ceramic, 50 × 32 × 4 cm
The ceramic object resembles a fragment of earth or stone that has broken away. Within its irregular contour, a layered surface unfolds in shades of brown, green, and grey. The surface appears weathered, with lighter areas that recall minerals or crust-like growth. Thin pink branches spread from a central point, moving across the surface without a fixed pattern and linking the different zones of the work, a gentle rhythm that renders the fragment both solid and fragile.
Moving as a Mountain (Growing) captures a moment of quiet transformation. Geology and organic life converge, and time and growth become palpable. The work invites slow looking, to experience the tension between movement and stillness, and to be present within a process that is always ongoing, even when we barely notice it. The fragment carries a subtle, almost tangible dynamism.
