KRISTJAN GUDMUNDSSON, without title, 1987
For his second solo exhibition in Galerie van Gelder in 1987 Kristján Gudmundsson made this sculpture in the gallery. The then unknown artist distinguished himself by working in a minimalist manner combined with a pronounced attention to unusual materials such as foam rubber, pencil leads, solid graphite, gunpowder of soft board.
Kristján Gudmundsson's first solo exhibition in the Netherlands was at Dolly Melchers' Galerie 854 in Amsterdam in 1971.
