This coming weekend, Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April, marks the fifth edition of Bermuda Open Studios. More than 140 artists across The Hague will open their studios to the public. It offers a rare opportunity to experience the making process up close. Below is a selection of studios by artists – connected to Gallery Viewer – who are opening their doors this weekend. In total, 22 locations throughout the city can be visited. Admission to the event is free.
At the Maakhaven studio complex, several artists are opening their doors to the public. Among them are Dirk Hardy (Project 2.0 / Gallery), Linda Overzee (Project 2.0 / Gallery) and Leslie Nagel (NL=US Art). This shared workspace offers insight into a wide range of practices, from photography and mural painting to sculpture.

Dirk Hardy presents a new Episode from his Vivarium series, including the set he builds from scratch for each new work. Vivarium is an ongoing series of dioramas in which Hardy condenses complex social questions into moments of stillness. Linda Overzee shows her monumental frescoes, and Leslie Nagel presents her kinetic sculptures. Maakhaven is located near Den Haag Hollands Spoor station at Calandkade 157.

In De Besturing, a former industrial building in The Hague, the studio of Nynke Koster (Rademakers Gallery) can be visited. In her studio, her working process unfolds step by step, from taking imprints, to testing and developing moulds, to their final translation into her soft rubber sculptures.

At DCR, the De Constant Rebecque artist complex in the Energiekwartier, Lotte van Lieshout (Livingstone Gallery) opens her studio. Visitors can discover how she marbles her paper as part of the preparation for her final works. The complex contains forty studios where artists, designers and architects work.

Broedplaats WD4X
At Broedplaats WD4X, both Lisanne Hoogerwerff (Galerie Helder / Galerie Wilms) and Marleen Sleeuwits (Galerie Bart) are based. At this location, visitors can gain insight into the process behind Hoogerwerff's video work and photography. Marleen Sleeuwits is hosting a studio sale and presents new work.
WD4X is a municipal artist hub where three collectives share a single building. This complex at Willem Dreespark houses more than fifty artists.
