This autumn, the cultural scene of Amsterdam welcomes an exciting new addition with the arrival of NAP+, an art fair that reimagines the traditional fair model. NAP+ will take place from 12-15 September in a former Renault garage near Sloterdijk Station, offering a dynamic platform for emerging and mid-career artists, curators and galleries. The venue perfectly complements the raw and innovative approach of the fair, focusing on accessibility and an inclusive art experience that resonates with the youthful spirit of the city. The fair was founded by David van Doesburg of Stigter van Doesburg and Sara Lang of LANGart.
A special feature of NAP+ is the curated exhibition space ‘De Wasstraat' ('The Car Wash', organised by young curators David Kloosterboer, Benjamin Carels and Jade Van Doesburg. This group exhibition introduces 20 promising talents from renowned art academies such as the Royal Academy of Art, Rietveld Academie, Rijksakademie, and De Ateliers.
Participating galleries that are also featured on GalleryViewer include Lumen Travo Gallery, galerie dudokdegroot, Vriend van Bavink, Galerie Fontana, Galerie van den Berge, andriesse~eyck galerie, tegenboschvanvreden, Ellen de Bruijne Projects, Galerie Maurits van de Laar, Galerie Roger Katwijk, Galerie Fleur & Wouter, Upstream Gallery, Stigter Van Doesburg, KERSGALLERY, Galerie Fons Welters, BorzoGallery, Galerie Ramakers, TORCH Gallery, GoMulan Gallery and Galerie Van Gelder.
Tegenboschvanvreden will exhibit new work by Sander Breure & Witte van Hulzen, Paul Kooiker and Marenne Welten, who explores memory and the physicality of painting. Ellen de Bruijne Projects presents powerful works by Anne-Lise Coste and Tyna Adebowale. Coste’s paintings are bold and immediate, using airbrush and a vibrant colour palette to create tension between beauty and violence, lightness and weight, with a politically charged graffiti-like aesthetic. Adebowale’s triptych "The Blue Queen" reflects the spiritual necessity of rest and self-care.
Galerie Fleur & Wouter will showcase a collaborative installation by Tim Breukers, Niko Riedinger and Tom Volkaert, in which playfulness and material experimentation take center stage, while Upstream Gallery presents innovative works by Harm van den Dorpel and Noor Nuyten, who transform digital processes by mechanical plotters and 3D printing techniques into physical art.
The festive opening of NAP+ will take place on Thursday 12 September from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and tickets for this event are available to the public. Fair tickets are priced at €12.50, including service fees. Students can enjoy free admission upon presentation of a student ID.
