Fontana Gallery from Amsterdam shall be in Venice from 05 May – 28 June during the 2015 Biennale to promote the work of our artists Jan Banning - photography - and Jehoshua Rozenman - sculpture -.
Jan Banning became famous through his photo series Bureaucratics, which has been exhibited in more than 20 countries and included in collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and the High Museum of Art, Atlanta. The latter museum also purchased his portrait series Down and Out in the South.
Banning is currently putting the finishing touches to Law & Order, which deals with criminal law, and he is also working on a project about communism in the 21st century. A selection from the above-mentioned works will be exhibited in Venice.
Jehoshua Rozenman’s new series Berlin, Berlin displays the duality of a city, perceived through glass. The works of sculptor Rozenman are strongly layered, equally raw as of a great beauty. Through his unconventional and intelligent use of glass as material and as metaphor he creates a motley dialectic between viewer and object; besides entrapment the images also invoke feelings of optimism.
The new series of images Berlin, Berlin was created in his current place of work and residence Berlin, and was recently presented by Fontana Gallery at Nieuw Dakota April 2015.
