“As I walked out in the mystic garden on a hot summer day, a hot summer lawn. Excuse me ma’am, I beg your pardon; there’s no one here, the gardener is gone.“
The last sentence of this quote from Bob Dylan’s song Ain’t Talkin’ is also the title of Marc Mulders’ new exhibition. In his new exhibition, Marc Mulders brings back the sun to anchor the beauty of simplicity in what we call our world, which sometimes does not have to go beyond the boundaries of our own garden.
Special guest Luca Dal Vignale
In Luca Dal Vignale's paintings , the adventure lies in the texture of the paint. He creates playful layers of glimpses, backdrops, and veils of paint, similar to the abstract works of Per Kirkeby, De Kooning, and Bram van Velde.
The painter's hand dances over the surface, crafting a 'sensual surface of paint', continuing the tradition of a 'sensual topography of paint'.
