Interferences 2022- ongoing
Within the new series, Kuettinger continue his deliberation on the topic of perception and the realm of opportunities that can be created. The term “Interferences” describes his works of which consist of a photographic composition and multiple panels comprised of casting resin featuring manually embossed imprints that are mounted in front of it.
Superimposition, permeation and oscillation of different layers lead to visual interferences and prismatic effects. The space that is located between the observer and the actual image serves as a medium that itself becomes part of the image and is modeled and sculpted. Through interferences, my new works manifest the notion of sight as a form of exploring the relation between what can and cannot be seen.
