The title is ‘Wat we ook doen, het is nooit goed genoeg.’ (Whatever we do, it is never good enough)
It’s a reference to women’s safety in daily life: whatever we do, there will always be possible danger because of sexism, victim-blaming and/or toxic masculinity. This beadwork is the final piece in my series of beadworks with sexist quotes, this time (for the first time!) written from a female perspective.
We can prepare ourselves all we want, we can dress more modest every time, we can alter our behaviour more and more and more, but it will never be good enough.
