De Amerikaans / Nederlandse kunstenaar Kathe Burkhart is vooral bekend om haar 'Liz Taylor Series', waar ze de afgelopen 25 jaar aan heeft gewerkt. Dit geheel van werken vertegenwoordigt meer dan 150 op foto's gebaseerde tekeningen, schilderijen en prenten. Ze vormde het beeld van de 'slechte meid', een idee dat ze halverwege de jaren tachtig initieerde. Kathe Burkhart portretteert Liz Taylor obsessief in haar privé- en openbare leven. Ze verandert de Amerikaanse actrice tot het einde van de jaren tachtig tot nu toe als een icoon van de vrouwelijke staat in de westerse wereld.
