Antonis Pittas creëert voornamelijk contextgevoelige installaties die zijn ingegeven door architectuur, kunsthistorische referenties, de performatieve aspecten van installatiekunst en de sociale dynamiek ervan. De verschillende elementen van de doorgaans minimalistische installaties dagen ons uit om na te denken over de vraag hoe we kunst waarnemen en hoe we betekenis toekennen aan onze sociale en politieke omgeving.

Oog voor de menselijke maat
Nog voordat Antonis Pittas wist welke kunstwerken hij bij Annet Gelink wilde laten zien, wist hij al een titel voor zijn tentoonstelling: Abstand. 'In het Duits, want ik zag dat woord in Duitsland op een poster die te maken had met de migratieproblematiek.' De Amsterdamse Griek heeft de menselijke relatie tot de openbare ruimte als leidmotief voor zijn tentoonstelling genomen.
