Amol K. Patil (IN, 1987) is a performer and visual artist. The hierarchical Indian caste system serves as the foundation of Patil’s oeuvre. He focuses on the social inequality within this system, particularly on the Dalits—the caste-less individuals who belong to the lowest social classes. Through his work, which includes sculptures, drawings, and videos, he makes their dire situation tangible. He highlights the invisible place they occupy in the city, while hands and feet symbolize the labor they perform.
