Félix Hannaert studied at the Fine Arts academy in Brussels. His art focuses on colour, line and transparency. The spectator is carried into the depth of surfaces which stand in correlation with the suggestion of space and, hence, with architecture. Hannaert's oeuvre has affinities with the creations of international artists such as Mondriaan, Ad Reinhardt and Barnett Newman and with Belgian artists Amédée Cortier, Dan Van Severen and Marthe Wéry. Works in the collections of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, the National Bank of Belgium, the de Meeus Foundation & the Foundation of Belgian contemporary art of Serge Goyens de Heusch.
