Over Galerie 127
After a long career within the Richmond group and the Cartier brand, Nathalie Locatelli participates, among other things, in the creation of the Foundation for Contemporary Art, organizes museum exhibitions from its old background and international fairs such as the Salon International of Haute Joaillerie in Geneva.
In 2003, after developing the new architectural concept for Cartier boutiques, she decided to turn her career around to develop a personal project around one of her passions: photography. Galerie 127 in Marrakech opened its doors in 2006 to devote itself to contemporary photography in Morocco.
First and only gallery in Morocco - exclusively devoted to photography and the Maghreb -, has organized since its creation more than 100 exhibitions of Moroccan and international photographers, participated in prestigious fairs such as Paris Photo (2009-2018-2019-2020- 2021) and Paris Photo LA (2014), 1:54 African Art Fair (2017-2020-2021) and AKAA (2016-2017), co-produces photo books and co-created Les Nuits Photographiques of Essaouira.
In 2019, she commissioned an exhibition called "Les marocaines" at the Maison Photographique in Lille.
On the one hand, it supports young artists in the development of their art, but is also keen to revive the work of the oldest. The gallery regularly lends works for institutional exhibitions - (Contemporary Morocco at the IMA, Afrique Capitales at La Villette, New York University and Boston) and participates in the reflection and constitution of private collections.
Since 2020, the gallery has grown and opened a second space in Montreuil.
