Lindsey Carr is een in Schotland gevestigde kunstenaar. Ze heeft een opmerkelijk vermogen om bewegingen uit vroegere kunstperiodes opnieuw te bezoeken en deze op haar eigen unieke en onvergelijkbare manier opnieuw te interpreteren. Haar werk is het afgelopen decennium geëvolueerd van een surrealistische mix van traditionele naturalistische schilderkunst en zelfreferentieel oriëntalisme.
In de afgelopen jaren heeft ze haar talent voor heruitvinding geleend aan 17e-eeuwse Nederlandse tulpenschilderijen, door middel van een proces van trapsgewijze vervorming, resulterend in technisch verbazingwekkende en visueel boeiende botanische portretten.
