Dialogue and Antagonism: Six artists plus One
On each of the 3 walls of our booth there will be exhibited the works of two artists, in dialogue and in opposition, while on the floor there will be placed the sculptures by Michael Johansson that represent the three-dimensional synthesis of what is exhibited on the walls.
On a side wall will coexist the works by Paolo Cavinato, physical and spiritual spaces, fishing lines artifacts that resemble of the Perspective as from the Italian Renaissance, in a juxtaposition with the geometric-abstraction painting by Daniel Mullen .
Additionally the small-sizes works of two young artists will share the front wall creating a strident contrast : one consists in Matthew Allen's absolute aniconic rigor graphites ( polished graphite powder on Linen) vs the very iconic Disney figuration by Peter Frederiksen (small colored embroidery on linen).
On the third wall, two different types and forms of prints will be compared. The digital representation of a flower by Stefano Caimi will be flanked by a folded printed aluminum wall-sculpture by Inma Femenía. In this case we have two diverse manners of Manipulating between digital vs physical: Inma Femenia does it folding colored aluminum foils by using her body’s weight and Stefano Caimi using a digital process that transforms photogrammetry images .
Michael Johansson will simultaneously recall these concepts in themselves, presenting a new his iconic sculptures made of common objects which have been denied their original function and which are therefore returned only as juxtaposition, space, color and geomentry.
