On the occasion of Art Rotterdam 2021, the UN-SPACED gallery is delighted to present a selection of recent works by Tulio Pinto (1974), Valentin van der Meulen (1979) and Laurent da Sylva (1979). The exhibition will create a dynamic dialogue between three contemporary artists with their own, unique approach towards the medium of sculpture, painting and drawing.
Art Rotterdam | Van Nellefabriek, Van Nelleweg 1, 3044BC Rotterdam
1st - 4th July: 10am - 7pm (special evening opening hours on Friday 2nd July: 7pm - 9pm)
Tulio Pinto explores the dialogue between simple, industrial materials by creating a precisely calculated balance between them. The notion of the invisible force gravity is at the core of his practice. Valentin van der Meulen manipulates his charcoal drawings by erasing or another type of overlaying in order to question the limits of the drawing medium and image. The foundation for Laurent da Sylva's artworks are meteorological data specific to solar radiation, which he translates plastically through graphic protocols and creates outcomes that border between painting and sculpture.
We look forward to seeing you next week at Art Rotterdam.
