A duo exhibition featuring works by Johan De Wit & Ilse Van Roy
The title Slow Movement refers to the slow movement of a symphony — the moment when the music decelerates, takes a breath, and allows space for resonance. In this in-between space, where sound dissolves into silence, an intensity unfolds that is not loud, but quiet.
A similar slow movement takes place in the work of Johan De Wit and Ilse Van Roy. Their forms do not appear to rest, but to breathe. What seems fixed reveals itself as subtly transforming: matter that slowly shifts, light that becomes tangible, silence that moves.
