In collaboration with Art Affairs, Bradwolff & Partners is pleased to participate with Greg Colson and Iva Gueorguieva in the seventh edition of paper positions berlin! Two artists with an autonomous and well-developed practice working out of Los Angeles. For this special occasion we chose works on paper, in which they both relate directly or indirectly to everyday reality, as well as the meta-universe.

Iva Gueorguieva makes drawings in which everything she experiences is incorporated. These may be small notes, from a dog on a leash to grand gestures about confrontations with death. In her work Gueorguieva tells stories, fragments from a large memory becoming accessible through her drawings. Driven by a great urge for action she improvises, creating spontaneous works that are deeply intertwined with life itself.
Iva Gueorguieva [*1974, Sofia, Bulgaria] lives in Los Angeles. From 2000 she had many exhibitions in America e.g.. Miles McEnery-gallery, New York; Vielmetter, Los Angeles; ACME, Los Angeles and Pomona Museum of Art, Claremont. Her works have been incorporated in collections of important museums, such as LACMA, Los Angeles; Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minneapolis; MOCA, Los Angeles; and Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego.
Greg Colson cannot be categorized by his work. His drawings have a conceptual value, they unravel existing systems and contradictions. With humor and poetry he analyzes social patterns, pointing out that people are obsessively being related to 'big themes'. Texts play a special role in his work, they provide precision and depth and keep the viewer sharp.
Greg Colson [* 1956, Seattle, United States of America] lives in Venice, California. He showed at Sperone Westwater, New York; Griffin Contemporary, Santa Monica; Kunsthalle Lophem, Brugge; Galleria Cardi, Milan; Gian Enzo Sperone, Rome; Art Affairs, Amsterdam; Konrad Fischer, Düsseldorf ; Lannan Museum, Lake Worth, Florida. His works are collected by museums, like: the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; the Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles; Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, D.C.; Panza Collection, Lugano; Rosenkranz Collection, Berlin and Moderna Museet, Stockholm.
