The series of drawings “No more Color” were made in 2010 in New York. Wieteke Heldens finished a box of colored pencils in this series. This is the start of the many paintings that followed: "No more Color", "Until the point is gone", "When will the matter be gone?", etc, etc.
Wieteke used the idea and the form many times after making these drawings. During the making of the drawings (she does not believe in sketches; she does not make sketches, it is a drawing or she throws it away) she was not aware that it would result in so many works. She was only trying to finish the colors as quickly as possible.
Wieteke did not want to use color anymore, she also painted and drew at night when it was dark so there was no more color. It also had to be a physical act, finishing the color. Making it the the most colorful works that Wieteke has ever made.
