This photograph shows two people visiting J P Ball’s Gallery. For this shot, Julien incorporated examples of J P Ball’s daguerreotypes, which can be seen hanging on the wall above the two subjects. Above these photo’s hang two portraits, the faces on these portraits are cut out of the frame, but the names could be read. The portraits belong to Lady Elizabeth Compton and Earl Burlington. It seems like the two visitors portrayed on this photograph are waiting to be photographed by J P Ball. Both of them seem to stare rather then look at anything. The woman is holding a stereographic viewer that was used to view photographs as a three-dimensional image.
