Jan Elburg was a Dutch poet and artist. He was born in Zeeland, he and his parents moved to Amsterdam in the early Thirties. After being in the Amsterdam resistance movement during the Second World War, he joined the Cobra group in the late Fourties. Inspired by troubadourpoetry and Surrealism, he made poetry, drawings and paintings. He also produced marketing texts and worked as a teacher at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy.
