In this work, the movement of unfolding and blossoming is made directly visible. Kovacovsky places plant material directly on photosensitive material, creating an image that is both documentary and revealing. The European beech, a symbol of growth and cyclical renewal, appears here not as a record but as a field of energy: a form that extends beyond the contour of the leaf. The photogram reveals how nature literally inscribes itself in light.
The title "Vernal Unfolding" points forward: to the seasonal rhythm, to the ceaseless transformation of living matter, and to the way art can sharpen our sense of time and change.
