Portraits of wealthy Europeans, painted by Dutch Masters, are combined with elements from nature. The plants depicted have healing properties, while the birds were drawn by John James Audubon, a 17th-century French-American ornithologist who made extensive studies in North America. For his research, the animals were first killed and then stuffed. Reflecting a colonial system where admiration of culture and nature is accompanied by oppression and destruction. The series are a plea for change and healing.
