Over the past years Karin van Dam (1959) has shifted her focus from the urban environment to structures and building blocks of nature that she wants to make tangible.
'Horsetail II' shows three tapered, cone-like shapes, which, in spite of their reference to nature, appear to be very abstract. The drawings are based on a species of plants, the Horsetail, that are native to swamplands in North America. Karin van Dam enlargens in her drawings its pointed spore cone.
