For her, pronouncing a title is a physical act: “Animal is a beautiful word in a sculptural sense, as well as in how it sits in the mouth with its vowels and tones. The choice of Animal felt right. I often select words that provide viewers with a sense of solid ground—words that open your throat and help you relax. This makes the work more accessible and allows you to be more open to the world around you.”
