Before words there was silence.
The Immersions series from Oriol Texidor invite us to search were we come from, who we are and who we will become. With using the same image over and over again we experience that we are immerged in all that is surrounding us.
All immersions follow the same pattern: a human silhouette arises from the centre of the work. A static figure is not placed on top of the work, but comes from the back of the work and is surrounded by its setting.
Oriol Texidor doesn’t draw the human figure, he just preserves it and this makes that the figure was already there, as absorbed by its surroundings.
Repeating the same process becomes a spiritual handling for the artist. The investigation on the countless possibilities brings more depth in the series.
When experiencing the work of Texidor we are triggered to stop and contemplate, a moment of reflection in current hectic times.
The artist Oriol Texidor works since 2014 on his "Immersion Series". The same figure is surrounded differently, over and over again. Texidor works with color, texture, materials and size to let us discover a new work. Now working on Immersio 230 to 270, it is remarkable how he continues to find ideas for this series. At the gallery we present the newest works from the series, large and small, but all objects that can be seen three dimensional.
