For the Stanze series, we cannot speak of surface anymore; they are objects, bas-reliefs, small and even miniaturized constructions but still three-dimensional.
“My intention is to obstruct the observers’ gaze, forcing them to feel a brief dizziness. The exterior of the box-rooms suggests a partial interior that is never fully perceivable, even from a close distance. In this way, the observers look at a secret that announces itself but never reveals itself completely. And although they do not look for this secret, they nonetheless look at the object in its three-dimensionality, filled with shadows that the parallelepiped inevitably projects, like a hollow brick placed on the wall. The final result is an incomplete image, reluctant to show itself”.
