ROB SCHOLTE, Untitled, 2006 [veldbloemen in kan]
The work "Untitled" [field flowers in kan] from 2006 of Rob Scholte is included as an example of a found object in the exhibition 'Bare objects, On hold art and Product art' (at Galerie van Gelder 8 September until 28 October 2023). It is an embroidery as an 'objet trouvé' that is not presented as it was found and intended to be, because the back has been made into the front. Thus there is no question of a real ready-made ready-made; it is a found object that Rob Scholte has given a different twist.
The exhibition 'Bare objects, On hold art and Product art' takes an innovative look at concepts of 'objet trouvé' and 'ready-made'. These are examined and viewed in more detail. And described in CUT magazine issue 27 soon to be launched....
In the visual arts, objects can be found that lie between the border of art and being on the edge of art. Or work that is in any case made by artists and has been brought by them into the domain of their professional field in a an unconventional way.
