The series highlights consumerism and the emptiness behind
appearance. Like ridiculous warriors, the characters adorn themselves with plastic, a material they claim to be noble although it is causing their downfall.
To get our full attention, Rideti chose humor over guilt. She portrays our vanity and blindness with tenderness. She emphasizes the emptiness of consumption when nature urges us to return to authenticity. With a plastic, even aesthetic approach, Fab Rideti produces engaged works of art, impregnated by the tremendous contemporary questions, scrutinizing human fragility as much as the flaws of our societies.
The themes of play, representation, and spectacle are recurrent within her work. She draws us into her theatrical, fantastic universe, often tinged with derision, which seduces us, only to reach us again. She addresses the inner child within us. Fab Rideti stages her photographs by creating imaginary characters that she dresses up in her way to tell her story better.
