The work 'In the beginning' is presented as an installation, consisting of three separate panels and was made for the solo exhibition 'On the surface of colour' in Studio Seine.
Each panel, 61 x 107 x 5 cm., costs € 2800,-. The complete installation costs € 8200,-.
Esmee Seebregts shapes the unpredictable power of colour. The colors in her works pulsate, move, pull, push and radiate. They seduce, intoxicate, deceive, enchant and leave us in the intangible.
Seebregts tries to penetrate to the essence of color and to understand their sensory, cultural and supersensible effect. By working with pure pigments and on large surfaces, Seebregts takes the viewer into a true color experience.
