Journal Drawing 1001 shows the interior of a house with three floors connected by four staircases. In the lower right and upper left the 34568 entity appears again, consisting of a connected triangle, four-, five-, six and octagon.
It is an impression of Henri Jacobs' first house in Brussels in which he initiated the Institut des Mots project. In the institute, words are brought in at the basement. On the first floor, words can be deposited and recorded before being stored on the top floor.
The project breathes the spirit of Marcel Broodthaers, the famous Belgian poet and artist, in whose art language has a prominent role. At his current home in Brussels, Henri Jacobs founded the Institut de Carton, where he organises exhibitions of works on paper.
