Floris Hovers builds colorful compositions that resemble cities and buildings that he can adjust as he wishes. Coming from the countryside he prefers solitude and emptiness in his city scapes. This gives him a sense of overview and tranquility that he doesn’t experience when wandering through real cities.
With this series Floris Hovers explored a smaller dimension than his previous models. ‘Building’ occurs by itself, an intuitive process with a surprising outcome. This causes the natural character, almost humane. It is not forced, intellectual, nor rational. On the mdf base you’ll find buildings made of wood scraps
and found objects.
