Dieter Mammel (1965) is known for applying a special technique in his paintings.
He uses ink on raw canvas which is made wet, so the colour runs out and branches whimsically. He often depicts swimmers and bathers sometimes with a sensual undertone. In 'Springerin' (Jumper) you see a diving girl suspended in the air just before hitting the water, a frozen moment that seems to date from the 1960's.
