My work has shrunk to a bean.
I wanted to return the earth to a woman's hand.
Motivated by the knowledge that we are asking too much of the earth with upscaling and efficiency. And a realization that a few thousand years ago the knowledge of the earth and the cultivation of it lay mostly with women.
Feminine qualities such as care, openness and equality are hidden in these 'hand-held objects'.
“We have lost the dark, dancing wisdom of woman, our deep ways of knowing, our creative, life-giving fire. We have become separate from the world around us; we’ve abandoned our roots in nature and the land.”
(If Women Rose Rooted – Sharon Blackie)
